Wind turbine manufacturer Alstom has received formal notice to proceed (NTP) on the Block Island Windfarm, and the project will showcase five Alstom Haliade 150 6-MW wind turbines featuring LM Wind Power's innovative 73.5m blades.

Multi-turbine demonstration projects of this nature are crucial to prove the viability of offshore wind in the US and bring the industry one step closer towards utility-scale deployments and manufacturing scale."
